Sr Java / Microservices Developer - CONTRACT (Wellington)

Job Description

• Initial 6 months contract but highly likely to extend significantly
• Wellington CBD location (initially remote due to COVID-19)
• Large Project environment.

Working with an existing Applications Development team within a large financial institution in the Wellington CBD

 

You'll be responsible for the development and design of applications along with building Microservices through your expertise in Core Java programming along with expertise in Java based Frameworks.

 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Java Development - at least 5yrs commercial experience which MUST include versions 1.8 and newer. You will need to have excellent experience in the Spring Framework
• Microservices - existing experience in building these API ideally using Springboot
• Web Services - SOAP / Rest
• Containers  - Docker (also ideally Kubernetes).
• Atlassian Tools - Jira / Bitbucket
• Message Broker - IBM MQ or JMS or ActiveQ
• Databases - NoSQL (such as Mongo DB) and Oracle.
