About the company
This business is well thought of cross New Zealand and provides vital services to many kiwis across the country. They have a wide range of business critical systems, websites, mobile applications etc. and are looking for an experienced Solutions Designer / Architect to join the organisation and provide solution and software architecture expertise focusing on core processing systems.
The role
In this role you will provide technical expertise across the business’s array of applications and systems ensuring the design and development of these solutions are done appropriately to meet requirements. Emphasis will be placed on maturing a secure environment and DevOps philosophy.
Some responsibilities:
- Identify, recommend and adopt appropriate Cloud technologies to deliver solutions.
- Working with the Solution Design team to agree solution architecture and design.
- Designs to adhere to modern architectural principles.
- Design, document and build solutions to complex domain problems according to best practice, development methodologies and object oriented and structured programming principles.
- Participate in the definition of and support the implementation of application security practices.
- Work closely with the wider development team.
- Automation of build tasks to support continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD).
- Perform quality assurance of implementation and code reviews to ensure design is being followed.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to others in the team as required and directed by Practice Leads and the Development Manager.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies as required, including Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Reviews etc.
Skills / experience:
- Proven systems analysis experience, in particular with core transactional systems.
- Previous 'hands on" experience working in a .NET environment
- Strong experience with PaaS Cloud hosted solutions
- Strong background working on enterprise level applications
- Development experience with a variety of databases, including Oracle and SQL Server
- Experience with working in an Agile environment
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), REST APIs, Event Driven architecture
- Experience with Integration architectures for IOT, Mobile, PaaS / Cloud (AWS, Google, Azure), Partner ecosystems.
- Experience in the design and implementation of API (Web Services, REST, Hypermedia, Event Driven)
- Experience in working in financial / insurance domain (ideal)
- Proven experience working within a large, highly agile multidisciplinary development team.
- Polished communication / interpersonal skills.
