Since our inception more than 6 years ago, we have stamped our mark on the encrypted cloud storage industry. Headquartered in NZ, we have more than 170 million customers across the globe and more than 60 employees. 

Whilst we move head-first through this pandemic, we are business as usual (albeit working remotely) and are now hiring a Senior C++ Developer, to join the MEGA team based at our head office, in Auckland (when the time is right).

The role of C++ Developer commands a proven track record in a similar role, with 5-10 years of relevant experience, coupled with a Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.  You excel at transforming abstract requirements to robust, simple, efficient and scalable data structures and associated algorithms. You love designing communication protocols and APIs that accomplish a given task reliably and with minimal overheads.

You will write elegant code that maxes out multi-core high-I/O server platforms, it is your passion. You hate wasting RAM and CPU cycles.  You are conscious of the fact that some classes of bugs can jeopardise our $100-million-dollar infrastructure. You do not gamble. Your code is structurally safe.

We’re after someone who can demonstrate:

• Analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with people of varying technical abilities
• The ability to prioritize and self-manage tasks, meeting and hitting deadlines as required
• Independence with their workload, yet someone who is able to work in a team as a contributing member
• An understanding MEGA’s customer base, you understand how systems work to ensure our products run and can be used as intended.
