Who we’re looking for

We’re after an experienced SQL Developer who can help us through a busy period!  We need someone who can construct correct, performant SQL queries to enable our clients to conduct data analysis.

You’ll be:

• Creating a canonical data model, and defining entities for our product that will satisfy our clients’ data analytics requirements.

• Leveraging your knowledge of SQL to transform our operational data model into these entities.

• Generating a data dictionary for these entities.

• Collaborating widely with other engineers and analysts to close gaps in your understanding of our data and processes.

• Providing leadership and guidance in your area of expertise to the team and to the client.

We are looking for someone with great communication skills (especially given our current remote challenges!), an analytical mind and of course, expert SQL programming skills.  You’ll have strong data modelling experience with MySQL / MariaDB, solid experience of source control (git), and the ability to work autonomously. Having worked in the data warehouse or data analytics space previously you’ve got a good understanding of what a good model looks like for analytics purposes.

Ruby or other scripting language programming skills will be a bonus. 

Previous data modelling experience in the energy industry is a distinct advantage.
