This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Finance to join a government funded organisation. This is a fixed term role until 2023 with full time week day working hours and the ability to onboard remotely.

The organisation has a central Wellington CBD office location that is close to public transport and local amenities such as cafes, bars, restaurants and the City shopping district.

About the role:

The Head of Finance reports to the Senior Leadership Team, and is responsible for a team of three. The objective of the role is to effectively deliver budgeting and reporting for the organisation, as well as property services and administration of financial transactions. The Head of Finance ensures best practice financial processes and appropriate mechanisms and reporting are in place.

Responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement best practice financial policies and procedures
• Ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place
• Maintain all finance systems and processes
• Oversee financial reporting for the organisation
• Liaise with internal and external auditors
• Ensure the Finance Team plans and achieves work plans
• Budget and treasury management

Who are we looking for?

I am on the look out for a finance team leader, finance manager or financial controller is open for new opportunities and wants to manage and build a small team in a complex environment. 

You will have:

• CA or CPA or similar certification
• A tertiary qualification in accounting, or equivalent
• Experience in budget management and financial reporting
• Strong technical expertise
• Proven experience in a senior Finance leadership role
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritise and meet the requirements of a range of stakeholders
