If you have the drive to deliver only the best data analytics and visualisations, and get satisfaction from working with large and varied data sets, coding in SQL, creating dashboards, as well as supporting end-users, then this is the role for you.
Based at our brand-new Palmerston North offices and reporting to the Director, Knowledge & Insights, this exciting role will support us to deliver new reports and insights on our new data vault. This role will involve developing Tableau reports and dashboards, automating report generation and distribution, uncovering new insights, accessing and making sense of new data sets, helping us improve our data quality, and engaging with our stakeholders.
You’ll be well supported by a high performing and tight-knit team. If you’re looking to accelerate your career in data analytics or BI, the work we’re undertaking offers huge potential for personal and professional development. You’ll get to work with industry leading BI technology and methodologies, and have opportunities to expand your network. For the right person there is an opportunity to carve this role out as your own as we further develop our analytics maturity.
We have no legacy BI tools to grapple with, but this also means no blueprint to follow. You operate effectively under sometimes ambiguous and uncertain conditions, and have a knack for distilling the complex down to something elegant and simple. You enjoy using critical thinking to solve challenges, and are confident in putting your ideas out there.
We’re seeking applicants who have familiarity with SQL and Tableau, as these are the key tools you’ll be using on a day-to-day basis. While a technical background is key to help you excel in this role, it’s your communication skills and creative flair that really sets you apart. We’re open to applicants from a range of backgrounds, and for the right person there will be some learning on the job.
