Senior Internal Audit

Randstad - Accounting, Banking & Finance NZ Wellington Central Full Time

Job Description

I have the privilege to be recruiting for two roles across two different but equally interesting public sector clients. Both have a large footprint, one nationally and the other with an international flavor. The ideal candidate for each will be currently operating as a Senior Internal Auditor or someone who is on a path towards Senior. You will have great knowledge and experience within the public sector and a keen understanding for the machinery of government.

These positions are hard to come by and the opportunity it provides to the right person is exciting!

What does the ideal candidate bring to the role?

  • They are technically able and can adapt to a fast pace change environment;
  • They are quick to understand the strategic direction of an organisation and ensure the assurance and risk review services they deliver add value to the business;
  • They can work autonomously if geographically remote from the rest of the Internal Audit team and organisation;
  • They recognise good practise and actively encourage consistency and continual improvement;
  • Where risk has been identified, independent and objective assurance is designed and provided to the business;
  • They are proactively involved in the business and can provide advice and guidance to assist in creating a robust control environment;
  • They build relationships with key stakeholders across the business and work to ensure good delivery outcomes;
  • They comply with the professional practices of the Institute of Internal Auditors as documented in the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF); and
  • They assist in the development of the Internal Audit Plan for the coming year.
  • They are curious or inquisitive. It is central to the role that you always want to understand how things work, why they work as they do and how they might be better.
  • They are comfortable preparing and presenting reports to the Lead Team, the Audit and Risk Committee and others as required.
  • Passionate about the mission, people and purpose.

If you are interested in finding out more about either of these roles and the organisations they are with please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me (Chris White) for a confidential chat on 021 613 656 or chris.white@randstad.co.nz
